Established
in April 2000 by Geoff Clarke to provide comprehensive and up
to date training and safety advice to the grinding industry.
Formerly technical manager with Universal Grinding Wheel Co Ltd
with 43 years experience in abrasives technology and over fifteen
years of active involvement in the preparation and implementation
of safety standards for the abrasives industry.
In addition
to an active involvement with the British Abrasives Federation
(BAF) and FEPA, the Federation of European Producers of Abrasives,
Geoff is the chairman of both the ISO Standards Committee and
BSI Standards Policy Committee for abrasives and the principal
UK expert for CEN, the European Committee for Standardisation.
He maintains
a close liaison with the Health and Safety Executive on all aspects
of abrasive wheel safety and has been instrumental in the current
revisions of the FEPA and HS(G)17 safety codes, the widely recognised
codes of practice for the industry. He is also an inspector/auditor
for the Organisation for the Safety of Abrasives (oSa).
