Regretably, there are no globally binding safety requirements
for abrasive products.
This is why responsible manufacturers of abrasives from a number
of European countries set up the Organisation for the Safety
of Abrasives (oSa) in 2000.
Membership now includes
most of the major European abrasives manufacturers and is open
to any company worldwide:
whose products meet or exceed the EN standards for the
safety requirements of abrasives
whose products have been independently tested for compliance
to the EN Standards
whose factories have been independently audited for compliance
to the EN Standards
These companies are setting a clear signal against inferior and
dangerous products which even when used properly, still represent
a serious risk.
The end user can easily recognise these quality products by the
oSa logo marked on the product
